HEALTH & WELLNESS ADVISORY
The Prince Albert Ballroom Society encourages all members to consult their physician or appropriate health professional before beginning or increasing any form of physical activity, including dancing. While ballroom dance is a joyful and rewarding pursuit, every individual is responsible for monitoring their own health and well-being. By participating in group sessions, private coaching, and social dancing, members acknowledge that dance involves inherent physical activity and agree to do so at their own risk. They release the Prince Albert Ballroom Society, its instructors, staff, and venue partners from any responsibility or liability for personal injury, illness, or property loss that may occur as a result of participation, understanding that their health and safety remain their own responsibility at all times.
PARTICIPANT RECOMMENDATIONS
WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING
Choose attire that allows freedom of movement while still feeling elegant and appropriate for social dance. Avoid restrictive or heavy clothing that could limit your performance or comfort.
STAY HYDRATED
Bring water or juice to keep your body properly hydrated throughout classes or social events. Proper hydration supports stamina, focus, and overall well-being.
HAVE A LIGHT SNACK
A small, easily digestible snack before dancing can help maintain energy levels. Avoid dancing on a full stomach, which can cause discomfort or sluggishness.
SIT DOWN IF FEELING LIGHT-HEADED
Listen to your body. If you feel dizzy, fatigued, or unsteady, take a brief rest to recover before returning to the floor.
RESPECT YOUR LIMITS
Ballroom dancing is rewarding, but it’s important not to push beyond your physical capabilities. Gradually build strength, endurance, and confidence to enjoy dancing safely and sustainably.
RESPECT PERSONAL SPACE AND COMFORT LEVEL
Be mindful of the physical and emotional boundaries of your dance partners and fellow participants, both on and off the dance floor, to create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
